Age: 41

History: http://www.lackadaisycats.com/wiki/index.php?title=Viktor

The Wiki may be a little vague and all-over-the-place, if needed I'm prepared to give a more coherent explanation.

Personality: At his core, Viktor's key trait is being a hard worker. Having grown up in a family with many mouths to feed and plenty of work to do just to get something on the plate, he only seems to feel at home when he's doing something labor-intensive. When he was younger he was bright, chipper, always asking if anyone needed anything. These days, especially after the war, he just sort of accepts that people will ask things from him, and he does them.

While definitely compliant, though, Viktor is far from pleasant company. Having been shellshocked in the war, he dislikes loud noises and sudden movements, and prefers the company of things that don't talk. And while he will rarely cause any real damage to people he cares about (though he is happy to give a black eye to the truly annoying sorts), he isn't afraid to remind people how able and willing he is to kill people who make him angry. He's been in the business of violence long enough that he no longer hesitates to kill people who are a danger to the people around him, or who are making his life difficult. The only exception to date has been Rocky, possibly due to him feeling pity for the man.

In fact, one of Viktor's virtues is a lack of moral conflict. While he had a strong sense of justice that often got him hurt when he was younger, he's mellowed out to the philosophy that people will hurt him, and he will hurt other people, and that's simply a fact of life. He doesn't seek out conflict (as much as he makes himself seem hostile) and he doesn't hold grudges; they take too much work, and hatred isn't very useful in his state of decay. If someone kneecaps him, that's fair. If he sets someone on fire, so be it. They're things that have to be done, for one reason or another, and it's simpler to work around them and keep going than to be upset over things that can't be fixed.

Speaking of fixing things, though, that's one of his passions. If he hadn't served in the war, he would have happily grown up to be a farmhand or mechanic. And even though the war and the years afterward made him a bloodthirsty, dangerous man, working with machinery always manages to cheer him up. Even to the point of trying to get up and fix a sink while recovering from a buckshot wound to the lung. He hates being inactive for two long, so having things to keep his hands busy makes him a rather pleasant person to be around... although, there's always a limited amount of time in which anyone is allowed in his company before he gets short-tempered.

The only real exception to this seems to be Ivy Pepper; she's the god-daughter of his old boss and reminds him of his daughter, so he's always been pretty attached to her. She's the only person who he'll never lay a hand on - though he does seem more hesitant to attack women - and he'll even stop attacking other people if Ivy tells him not to hurt them. He can be over-protective of her, though; he has beaten every single one of her boyfriends to a pulp, simply because he thought they weren't worthy of her. Her current boyfriend is still intact, but mostly because he's a fellow employee.

His interactions with Ivy show another important trait - Viktor has a lot of trouble with openly showing emotions. His mood tends to range from mild contentment, to annoyance, to anger. He has trouble showing sadness, and will instead become grumpy when his mistakes are pointed out to him. Not because he doesn't feel bad, but simply because he doesn't know how to open up to people or even really process the feeling... he's either happy or unhappy, and unhappiness is met with aggression. He's a product of the times, in that regard, more than anything.

Debt: He agreed to work in exchange for a cure for his injuries; namely, the chest-full of buckshot, and the fact that his knees don't really bend. Being the stickler for familiarity that he is, though, he elected to keep one of his eyes non-functioning. After that's all paid off, though, he still has to pay back his ever-increasing debt for never wearing his uniform. Ever.

Inventory
- Clothing: white cotton undershirt, white button-down shirt, black suspenders, blue denim pants, black leather shoes, gray wool flat cap. His fashion is 20s-era, and usually rather grubby unless it's a special occasion.
- A warm blanket courtesy of his elderly Austro-Hungarian neighbor.

Abilities
- He can lift up to 200 lbs, although it's a serious strain by that point.
- He has very sharp claws and isn't afraid to use his teeth.
- His general temperament makes him very intimidating.
- His fur is very soft and warm.
- He's very skilled with machinery, although he'll have trouble with anything invented after 1927.
- He's also very skilled with murdering people. Cleaning up afterward, not as much, but he does a pretty good job.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- Literal strength, plus the willpower to grab someone by the throat and shove them into a burning fire.
- He has a soldier's bravery and loyalty; he served in the army, after all.
- He's a hard worker, and is actually very unhappy whenever forced to rest and let injuries heal.
- He thinks well on his feet, even if his methods may be considered unorthodox.
- He rarely holds grudges, just accepts things that happen to him and moves on.

Weaknesses:
- He's rather socially awkward; he understands intellectually how people can be sociable and charming, but rarely puts it to use.
- He doesn't have a good grasp on grammar, it tends to be all over the place (or should i say, always it is being all over the place)
- He is always over-eager to get back to work, and prolongs his recovery period by re-opening wounds.
- Canonically he has weak knees and can't handle being tackled, but thanks to Witch Magic (TM) that's not a problem anymore.
- He struggles with change, and will probably even have trouble coming to terms with having so many humans around.

Characterization Sample: In either prose or bracket text, we would like at least one sample that contains 300 words minimum to convey and display your characters introspection and voice. Reusing samples from other applications is perfectly fine, so long as they meet the minimum requirement!

You may also link us a thread that is at most one year old, and we would like to see at least ten comments from your character; please note that it should be a thread that contains enough of a conversation that we could get an idea of character voice and how they are portrayed in your personality section.
